The 5th International New Horizons in Search Theory Workshop: Investigating New Metrics

This year’s workshop explored new metrics for new kinds of search and was built on the results of the previous four annual workshops. The participants explored the assumption that while traditional tools led to traditional metrics for “success” in search, new tools for new types of search may produce or require entirely new search metrics.
As in previous years, this workshop was a collegial exercise with the aim of providing intellectual variety, energetic interaction and professional, lively debate. The presentations and workshop sessions provided ample opportunity for deep collective investigation of this important topic. These web pages contain a short summary of each presentation and the plenary colloquia. Where available, the participants’ presentations can be downloaded for more information.
